Krita “Next” – Development releases for Fedora 23, 24, rawhide, and Epel 7 ( Centos 7 and RHEL 7 )

After Krita moved to Qt5 and KDE Frameworks, it moved from the Calligra repository to their own repository.
This calls for a new package and since my current limited time to Fedora not allow me to do everythin i want, at least i push to
do the burden of do the initial packages and testing on copr.
I called the repository Krita Next as the future for Krita before go to mainline. I will do that soon with Qt and later KDE, but this is topic for another post.

Fedora users will get it automatically when released, but i believe the large beneficial comes to EPEL 7 users that use Linux on graphic stations ( believe me, there are some ).

So, the usual place, Copr Krita Next

Remember, Krita still in alpha/beta stages, so use carefully and if possible, try to help Krita guys to debug and improve the release.
And of course, support Krita !

  2. As a person who dnf insalled calligra-krita. Can you provide instructions for what we must do to update to 3.0? I’m still relatively new to rpm’s, repo’s etc.

    1. The following are the steps I did.
      1) Remove the previous version:
      sudo dnf remove calligra-krita
      2) Enable the copr:
      sudo dnf copr enable @kdesig/krita-next
      3) upgrade dnf (not sure if it needed, anyway…)
      sudo dnf upgrade
      4) install krita next
      sudo dnf install krita

  3. Hi.
